Terms of Service
Last updated: September 16, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of StepMaxx, a mobile application developed and published by Voodoo (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By installing, accessing or using StepMaxx, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use StepMaxx.
StepMaxx’s Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data in connection with the service.
1. Service
StepMaxx is a mobile application that helps you read your daily steps from Apple Health, view a yearly calendar, export it, and optionally connect with friends, comment on friends’ activity and like comments. StepMaxx can be used without an account; social features require an account and calendar sharing is optional.
StepMaxx is a self-tracking and informational tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice. If you are concerned about your daily steps or your health, you should consult a qualified professional.
Daily totals can be delayed or incomplete. The 10,000-step target is a motivational feature, not a personalized exercise prescription. Choose activity appropriate to your circumstances. StepMaxx is not an emergency service and must not be relied on to contact emergency or crisis services.
2. Eligibility
StepMaxx is intended for users aged 18 or older.
By using StepMaxx, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
You must use StepMaxx only if you are legally allowed to do so in the country where you are located.
3. Accounts
You can use core tracking features without an account. To use friends features and share your calendar, you must create an account, which you can do using Sign in with Apple or email.
You are responsible for the activity that takes place under your account and for keeping your device, sign-in credentials and any security settings confidential and secure.
If you lose access to your device, change your sign-in method, reinstall the app or register a new device, some account features or history may no longer be available.
4. Privacy
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your health data for advertising.
We process the information needed to operate, secure and support the service, comply with legal obligations, and enforce these Terms. Your use of StepMaxx is also governed by the StepMaxx Privacy Policy.
5. Licence
We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use StepMaxx in accordance with these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer or otherwise exploit StepMaxx, except where expressly permitted by these Terms, by applicable law, or by applicable open-source licences.
All rights in StepMaxx, including software, design, trademarks, logos, domain names, documentation and other intellectual property, remain owned by Voodoo or its licensors. You may not use the StepMaxx name, logo or branding without our prior written permission.
6. Acceptable Use
You must use StepMaxx only for lawful, authorised and acceptable purposes. You must not use, or help anyone else use, StepMaxx to:
- Violate applicable laws or regulations;
- Infringe the rights of Voodoo, other users or third parties, including privacy, intellectual property, confidentiality or security rights;
- Harass, threaten, abuse, defame, impersonate or deceive others;
- Exploit, harm or endanger minors;
- Distribute malware or harmful code;
- Gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to StepMaxx, accounts, devices, systems or networks;
- Disrupt, overload, interfere with or degrade the service;
- Collect information about other users without authorisation;
- Create accounts through automated or deceptive means;
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent access restrictions;
- Use StepMaxx for fraud or other unlawful activity;
- Sell, rent, charge for, or commercially exploit StepMaxx without our written permission.
7. User Content
You retain your rights in the content you create in StepMaxx, such as your daily step totals, comments and profile information.
You are responsible for the content you create, store or share through StepMaxx, and you must ensure that you have the necessary rights and permissions to use it.
You grant us the limited rights necessary to operate the service, including storing, processing, syncing and displaying your content, and making it available to the friends you choose to connect with or, for period step totals, publicly when you enable public sharing, as described in the Privacy Policy.
If you enable sharing and accept a friend connection, that friend can see your shared step data. Public step sharing is separately optional and off by default; enabling it publishes your identity, ranking and period step totals on the global leaderboard in the app and on the StepMaxx website. Comments and likes remain visible to the profile owner and their accepted friends. You may disable sharing, remove friends or block users at any time. Other users may save, copy, screenshot or export information that is made available to them.
8. Enforcement
StepMaxx lets users comment on friends’ activity and like comments. Do not post abusive, discriminatory, threatening, unlawful or private content. You can report comments, block users and remove friends in the App. You can delete your own comments. We may review reports and remove content or restrict accounts that violate these Terms.
We may restrict, suspend or terminate access to StepMaxx if we reasonably believe that a user has violated these Terms, created legal or security risk, harmed other users, or used the service in an abusive or unlawful way. If your account is suspended or terminated, you must not create another account without our permission.
If you become aware of misuse of the service, such as another user impersonating you, you can contact us at contact@stepmaxx.app.
9. Pricing
StepMaxx offers optional virtual coffee purchases to support development. Each coffee is a one-time, non-consumable purchase and can be bought once per App Store account. It does not provide a physical item, subscription or additional app features. The App Store shows the local price before you confirm payment. You can restore previous purchases from Settings > Support Us using the same App Store account. Apple processes payments and handles refund requests; your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
10. Service Changes and Availability
StepMaxx may evolve over time. We may add, modify, suspend or discontinue features, devices, platforms or parts of the service, subject to applicable law.
StepMaxx may be unavailable from time to time, including for maintenance, updates, security reasons, network issues, provider failures or events outside our control.
We may provide updates to StepMaxx, including security, compatibility and feature updates. Some features may require that you use the latest version of the app.
11. Fees and Charges
You are responsible for any costs charged by your mobile operator, internet provider, app store or other third party, including data charges, roaming charges, taxes and device costs.
12. Termination
You may stop using StepMaxx at any time.
Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account. If you want to delete your account or exercise your data deletion rights, please follow the instructions described in the StepMaxx Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access to StepMaxx if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, created legal or security risk, harmed other users, or used the service in an abusive or unlawful way.
The sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including those on intellectual property, user content, disclaimers, liability, governing law, disputes and general provisions.
13. Disclaimers
StepMaxx is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
StepMaxx is an informational and self-tracking tool and does not provide medical advice. You remain solely responsible for decisions you make about your health and physical activity.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that StepMaxx will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, available in every country, compatible with every device, or suitable for every purpose.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer, privacy or other mandatory laws.
14. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of StepMaxx, including loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, service unavailability, security incidents, user conduct, third-party services, or content created, stored or shared through StepMaxx.
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under mandatory consumer, privacy or other applicable laws.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by French law, except where mandatory laws provide otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
If a dispute arises, you should first contact us at contact@stepmaxx.app so that we can try to resolve the issue amicably. Any dispute relating to these Terms or to StepMaxx will be submitted to the competent courts determined under applicable law.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, including to reflect changes to StepMaxx, legal requirements, security needs or business operations. The latest version will indicate the date on which it was last updated.
Your continued use of StepMaxx after an updated version becomes effective means that the updated Terms apply to your use of the service. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using StepMaxx.
17. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any notices expressly incorporated by reference, form the entire agreement between you and Voodoo regarding StepMaxx.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. If we do not enforce a provision immediately, this does not mean that we waive our right to enforce it later.
You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, asset transfer, or by operation of law, provided this does not reduce your mandatory rights.
